What is a little free library?
A Little Free Library is a “take a book, return a book” free book exchange. They come in many shapes and sizes, but the most common version is a small wooden box of books. Anyone may take a book or bring a book to share. Little Libraries have been called “mini-town squares.”
Little Free Library book-sharing boxes play an essential role by providing 24/7 access to books (and encouraging a love of reading!) for readers of all ages and backgrounds.

Why Quaker Hill?
Quaker Hill village does not have a library of its own. Residents of Quaker Hill have access to the wonderful services of Waterford Public Library. Unfortunately, it takes about 20 minutes to drive from the Quaker Hill section of town to Waterford Public Library. Installing a Little Free Library within the Quaker Hill village will give residents ready access to books when they cannot make it to the public library. A little free library will make these materials available particularly to children and elderly residents who might not have easy access to transportation.
